Loros
LOROS Hospice is a local charity and every year they care for over 2,500 people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. They provide free, high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill adult patients, their family and carers.
Rainbows
Sadly, some children simply don’t live long enough. Since 1994 Rainbows have opened their doors and hearts to those children and the people who love them most. As the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people, Rainbows is a place where life-limited children and their families can find care and support. This incredible team of people help relieve symptoms, improve quality of life, support parents and siblings through their bereavements and care for children until the end.
Leicestershire Air Ambulance Service
The team fly two regional air ambulances, across the counties of Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland. These two helicopters provide a rapid response to trauma and medical emergencies over an area of 3850 square miles covering many of the UK’s major road networks including the M1, M6, M69 and M42. With an average response of just 13 minutes, between them they attend on average 6 missions a day, and have saved thousands of lives in our community.
Unfortunately, as you can imagine it is impossible for us to sponsor every request we get, despite each and every one of them being a worthy cause. As such, we hope that by concentrating our efforts of these 3 fantastic organisations we can make a far more meaningful difference.
